Here are some tips - to help sellers prepare for home inspections: Make sure the water is on. Make sure the electricity and the furnace are on. Make sure there is clear access to all electrical panels. Make sure there is clear access to all crawl spaces. Make sure there is clear access to all attics. Please clear out the spaces under all sinks.  Remove decorative items from tops of toilets and around toilet bases.  Includes rugs. Make sure keys are left for any locked spaces. Turn off all computers. I will run the dishwasher and the washing machine through a short cycle to ensure they are working.  Please remove laundry from washing machine.  If it is full - I will not empty it - and this appliance can not be tested for the new homeowners. Take your pets to another location, or if that is not possible, make sure they are safe and won’t limit the inspection. Allow access to the full garage by leaving your cars in the driveway - this will also allow for inspection of the overhead door. Seller should leave a phone number - so that they can be reached if additional information is needed. Be prepared to stay away from home for at least 2 hours - inspections can take longer - depending on the size of your home.
